Quickstart Guide

Get Whichi running in under 5 minutes. Follow these steps to build your first AI app.

1Download & Install

Download Whichi for Windows or macOS from whichi.app.

Windows users: You may see a SmartScreen warning. Click "More info" → "Run anyway". Whichi is built on open-source components and safe to run.

2Install Node.js

Whichi requires Node.js to run your apps locally. Download the LTS version (20.x or later) and install it.

Already have Node? Run node --version in your terminal to check.

3Set Up AI Access

Choose one of these options to access AI models:

Google Gemini (Recommended for beginners):
Free tier: 250 msgs/day. Get API key →
OpenAI (GPT-4o):
Best quality. ~$10/mo. Get API key →
Ollama (100% local, RGPD-compliant):
Free, private. Install Ollama →

Add your API key in Settings → AI Providers after opening Whichi.

4Create Your First App

Open Whichi and type a prompt in the chat input. Try one of these:

• "Build a todo app with dark mode"
• "Create a landing page for a SaaS product"
• "Make a weather app that uses my location"

Whichi will generate the code, then you approve it. A preview will open automatically. You can then chat with the AI to refine your app.
